Galalite is a family-owned business that has been producing innovative projection screen surfaces for over 60 years. With our headquarters located in Mumbai, the Heartland of the Movie Industry in India, we have become one of the largest suppliers of screens to exhibitors worldwide.

During the late 1980s, with the rise of VHS cassette players, cinemas across India began to close, prompting us to diversify into producing smaller screens for military and institutional purposes. Over time, we expanded into selling to home theaters and studios as well. Our company’s unwavering focus on delivering the highest quality products has garnered an overwhelmingly positive response from both the studio and home theater markets, establishing us as a trusted and reputable name in the industry.

During the early 1990s, we expanded our business to export cinema screens. In 2007, we relocated to a larger factory to solely focus on manufacturing cinema screens. However, due to cheaper Chinese products and increased competition, profitability for smaller projection screens decreased significantly. This prompted us to shift our focus and prioritize the production and sale of cinema screens.

In 2017, we had established ourselves as a leader in the Cinema Screen Market, and consumers in India had become more discerning, recognizing the value of high-quality AV projection screens over cheaper alternatives. This led GTC Industries management to introduce the HT Screens under a fresh brand image, LUMINA, while still building on the strong reputation and expertise of GALALITE.
